Asian grocery stores and supermarkets stock ingredients, snacks and household goods that general American supermarkets often do not carry, organized by category rather than by country of origin in most stores. Produce and live or fresh seafood sections are usually at the back or side of the store, and weekend mornings bring the largest crowds and freshest restock. Many larger Asian supermarkets include a hot deli or food court counter selling prepared meals by the pound or as fixed plates, useful for a quick lunch while shopping. Labels are frequently bilingual or untranslated, so store staff can usually help locate a specific ingredient if you ask. Cash, cards and mobile pay are all commonly accepted at larger chains; smaller specialty shops may be cash-preferred.

The business lists hours on 6 days of the week. On most of those days it is open 11 am–7 pm. It is closed on Sunday. As with most places, expect changes around holidays; the phone number below is the fastest way to confirm. You can reach Fish Market at (718) 292-3861; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions.

Customers rate it 4.3 out of 5 on Google across 168 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded seafood markets in Bronx.

Bronx is in New York, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. Getting around Bronx is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across New York's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

Very fresh seafood options. This is now my favorite place to purchase fresh shrimp and lobster tails. Their steamed crab legs are also well seasoned and delicious. This place is better than other fish markets I have been to and better priced than purchasing seafood at a restaurant. I can take the items home and prepare them how I want.

I never expected that the fish sandwich would taste that good with French fries but it was not ordinarily seasoned perhaps . Or maybe the fish the get is fresh as well so if you don’t get a fish sandwich Myb you should buy fish there . It was clean and organized which was important and it didn’t smell fishy in there . The cooks were gentle and the food made me full . Would eat a sandwich here again or if not buy some fish .

Nice place with fresh fish and they cook it for you. They have fish, crab, shrimp and vegetables to choose from. They can steam and fry and you add your own daises.

Don't be fooled. The scallops are fake. If you remove the breading it is a thin layer of something white rolled into a circular shape. Imagine a fish-flavored fruit roll-up. Never again.

Wide variety of seafood, including several types of shrimp, scallops and fish. Live crab and lobster. Stuffed clams, fried crab sticks and fried scrimp. Items fried or steamed on premises. Side dishes include French fries or steamed vegetables (potatoes, okra, broccoli or vegetable medley). Several tables at which to eat. Food seasoned to one's preference. Very friendly and helpful staff.
